How to activate the custom report capabilities in JIRA Cloud ?

I am trying to follow : Create a new custom report | Jira Service Management Cloud | Atlassian Support

I am trying it from within a project but my left side reports section does not have a "New Report" option (cf screenshot below). Am I missing something obvious ?

Welcome to the community !

The link which you have specified is that of Jira Service Mangement Project , whereas the screen-shot attached is that of Jira Software Project. Can you please cross check as the reporting features vary across JSM & Jira Software respectively

Ah you are right I am using Jira Software !

Any way to do what I want using Jira Software then ?
