How to add a layout panel for custom fields (free text)

I want to have a custom field (free text) which gives the user the possibility to adjust the format like in the standard jira description field (see screenshot below):

However I have not found a way to do it. Is this even possible (Jira Cloud).

Hi @Lucas Neitzel 

sure this should be possible.

Go to the "Field Configuration" for your project(s) where you use the custom field and make sure, that the "Renderer" is set to [Wiki Style Renderer]

thanks a lot for your answer. That was exactly what I was searching for. Thanks!

However I now have another challenge. When I create a new Ticket everything is displayed as expected. The field is prefilled and gives the option to usse styles, attachments...

But when I saw the issue and open it again (view/edit screen). The description is empty (even if i added something before).

Do I need to do soemthing with the screens/ screen schemes there?
