How to append new sprint value on unresolved cards with an existing sprint?

When I add a sprint value of "project i1" to a card and it's unresolved in the icebox and I close sprint "project i1" and create sprint "project i2" how do I add the sprint "project i2" to all cards unresolved with "project i1"?

Given I have a project

When I create a card-1
And I add a sprint value of "Project i1" to card-1
Then card-1 is in the icebox

When I close sprint "Project i1" 
And create sprint "Project i2"
Then card-1 has a sprint value of "Project i1" and "Project i2"

@Andrew Beard If you create the second sprint prior to closing the first sprint, you will be prompted with the option to move all unresolved issues to the next sprint or to the backlog upon ending the first sprint.

Thank you Jonny, I'm focused on carrying over the sprint value of the card without the card being brought into the sprint. ie the card remains in the icebox but still gets the new sprint value assigned to it.

@Andrew Beard I think what you are saying is that you have a status "Icebox" that doesn't appear on your sprint board and issues in the icebox status are designated for the current sprint. If that is the case then you can still use the instructions that I mentioned and those issues will remain in the icebox status and will show both the old sprint and the new sprint.
