When clicking the Push link from TestRail to create a defect in Jira, how do I automatically populate some fields. For example, I want the defect fields Project and Priority to acquire the values from Project and Priority fields from TestRail. Also I want the Issue Type of defect to be defaulted to 'Bug'. Refer to attached screenshot.

Is this possible? How?

Hi Ravi,

No 3rd party apps involved. Just plain configuration in the Administration > Integration > Defect Plugin.

Hi @Zaldy Parian ,

The screenshot that you have provided resembles custom app screens. Please note that native JIRA administration does not have Integration-> Defect Plugin section. You may want to cross check the third party app responsible for this functionality.

To me it looks like some third party test management JIRA app. I can help you if you can provide me with further inputs on the third party app and few screenshots as you execute the use case.

I'll post same question in TestRail.

Thanks, anyway.

Hi @Zaldy Parian ,

This looks like a third party application which is integrated with JIRA. I would advise to ping that vendor about your requirement.

Let me know if this makes sense or not.

Ravi Varma
