How to call web service using script post-function?

I am using script runner and I want call SOAP web service when I click on To Do workflow

I am not sure if it is possible using scriptrunner as you have to create stub classes from wsdl of the respective SOAP service.

If you develop plugin in java using atlassian sdk then it will be possible to create such a post function.

Actually I want call web service on workflow trigger (To Do to in progress)

So I am expecting any simple example to call web service using script runner
