No they did not mention how to change the key in previous tickets i mean already created tickets with old key and i want to update the key in the previous tickets to new key

When you use that procedure it'll change previous tickets to the new key. You might think it didn't work since JIRA will keep the previous key working for backward compatibility but if you manually change the URL to force using the new key, it should work as you intend.

In cloud go to project settings > details. There you will find project name and Key where you can modify.
