I have setup outlook mail to JIRA ticket creation.I am able get tickets for mails that are been sent to a specific id.The issue is this is for NAGIOS i have 6 projects and nagios send them with a specifc subject line which has the project code. Please let me know how i can have these fall into the specific projects so tickets are raised for the right projects and how to categorise the tickets into Network, space issue or utilisation.
Each JIRA mail handler can only make issues for a specific project\issuetype combination. However you can achieve what I think you are after using an IMAP mail server and some Outlook rules:
1) In the mailbox you have for this, set up a different folder for each project\issuetype combination you want.
2) Use Outlook rules to move mail with the different project names in the summary to the different folders.
3) Set up mail handlers for each project\issuetype, with the "Folder Name" set to the folder you set up for that combination.
The result is that the mail goes into the main inbox, gets sorted into the correct folder, which is then ingested by the appropriate JIRA mail handler.
Thanks Haddon for the quick reply.I think its the only logical way i can tell Jira about these tickets.
Shall have them configured and have a look into this.
