Hello, Again, Esteemed Community:
I have a company-managed Jira project that was created from another company-managed project. I want to change the workflow, but only for the single project of interest, leaving the original workflow unchanged.
I've read that the recommended (only) way to do this is via the Marketplace. I don't want to upload our project workflow to the Marketplace. Is there a way using workflow export/import to generate the new workflow?
Thanks,
-John Tucci

Hello @John Tucci Looks like the workflow is shared between 3 projects and you want to change the workflow for only one project.
if this is the case, then
1. Make a copy of your workflow that you want to change
2. This will create a copy workflow and you can make changes to that copy
3. Now create a copy of the workflow scheme, associate the changed workflow to the right issue type
4. Go to the project where you want to apply the change and switch to the new scheme.
Hope this is helpful!
Hello, Anandhi:
My sincere "Thanks" for your prompt and helpful reply. You correctly summarized what I want to achieve. Your first step mentions, "Make a copy of your workflow...". However, I do not have an explicit "Copy" selection, but instead have these selections:
If I "Publish Draft" I will be able to name the backup copy, which would be the original shared workflow; however, if I publish my "modified draft", the updated workflow will now be applied to all shared projects.
How do I save my updated workflow without having that apply to all shared projects?
Regards,
-John

Hello @John Tucci
To copy the workflows, go to the Administration -> Issues -> Workflow -> Find the workflow that you need to copy, to the right side against the workflow, you should find the copy button.

Hello, Again, Anandhi:
And, again, I owe you my sincere "Thanks" for your diligence, patience, and above all, expertise. This is exactly what I was looking for. I have copied and renamed the workflow. I am now ready to change the new workflow and apply it where applicable.
This awesome Community rocks, once again, and always!!
Regards,
-John
