Hi Everyone,
How do we copy the same data from Prod Jira to Dev instance. As we need to need to upgrade so will need to do in Dev instance initially. Please note both Jira Versions we are using are different Prod (7.3.1) and Dev (8.2.2 ).
Also provide the upgrade steps and whcih version is suitable to upgrade from 7.3.1 to new version ?
Your inputs would be much appreciated!
You can't in this case.
It is not possible to downgrade Jira data (technically, you could, by reading all the code that upgrades the data and writing something to reverse it all, but no-one has done that as far as I know)
For the upgrade, see https://confluence.atlassian.com/adminjiraserver/upgrading-jira-applications-938846936.html
Nic,
Ok, Thanks. If it's the same version then it could be possible ? If yes, please provide the document related to this.

With the same version, you have two options
Export production to XML and import it on development
Stop dev, copy the database from production and drop it into development, restart and re-index Jira
In both cases, you'll want to copy the attachments over (rysnc is a simple way to keep dev up to date with production)

Thanks again Nic.
1) Export production to XML and import it on development - Is this the first option ?Where do i find these please ? Could you please provide the screenshots how to get it?
2) Stop dev, copy the database from production and drop it into development, restart and re-index Jira - Is this the second one ?
Please suggest me ?
