How to customise Edit screen to remove Resolution field?

We are running Jira 7.4.  We find that editing an issue changes the issue's Resolution field to Fixed, which we don't want.

How can I remove Resolution from the Edit screen?

As an admin, go to the project admin area and look at the "issue type screen scheme", drill down into it until you find the edit screen for the issue type, and edit it to remove the field.

Thanks, I edited our custom screen 'Leda: Scrum Default Screen'. I didn't find an 'edit screen', just a list of fields. I removed the Resolution field and it no longer appears in Edit.  However, that is not quite what you suggested. Have I edited the wrong place?

You've done absolutely the right thing, you just took a different route to get to the screen you needed to edit.
