How to detect when an issue has its sub-tasks deleted/moved (Jira Automation)

Hi,

I want to do an Automation Rule which triggers when an issue loses any of its sub-tasks, i.e.:

  1. Issue (Task 1) has Sub-Tasks (Sub-Task A and Sub-Task B)
  2. Sub-Task A is moved to a different parent Issue

I need to perform an action in Task 1, but I cannot find in Jira Automation how to detect when this happens. Any ideas or feedback?

Thanks a lot!

hello

try one of the triggers:

Issue Deleted, Issue Moved

Untitled.png

then check the parent issue:

02.png

and check it if it is equal to Task1

then choose the action you want.

Hi @Ibrahim Ghalghay

I already tried that one, also the "Field edit issue" with "Issue type" and it didn't work 🤷🏻‍♀️

Hi @Sergio Montávez

I will test it and get back to you..

please give me an email to add it to my test space, to show you the suggested solution (if it worked)

Hi @Ibrahim Ghalghay

In a ticket with Atlassian support team we found that there may be a bug in my instance since the solution they propose don't work for me but it works for me. I'll get back with the insights.

Apart from that, we can keep the conversation going through this post, thank you!
