How to display absolute dates rather than relative dates in issue history?

Guelmis Martínez July 25, 2023

In my Jira Cloud instance in a Team managed project, issue history shows relative timestamps like "2 days ago" rather than full dates and times.

For example, when looking at the issue history tab, I see changes like:

- Status changed by [User] 2 days ago
- Comment added by [User] 4 hours ago

image.pngIs there a way to have Jira display the full date and time like "2023-01-27 10:15 AM" instead of the relative format?

I've checked user preferences and other settings, but don't see an option to change this. Is this configurable for the entire instance or each user? Or alternatively, is there a Jira app that can show absolute dates in history?

Any guidance on how to display the full date/time stamps rather than relative ones would be appreciated!

Hi @Guelmis Martínez welcome to the community.  Your users can click on the relative date to change it to absolute.  There is a suggestion on Atlassian's Jira site (jira.atlassian.com) to make it easier to use Absolute Dates.  You can vote for and watch it here for updates: JRACLOUD-41506

Hope that helps.

Thank you, at least clicking it is a temporary solution.

You can use the app we developerd, CIFJ - Issue History Dashboard app.

https://marketplace.atlassian.com/apps/1235591/cifj-issue-history-dashboard?hosting=cloud&tab=overview

You will be able to filter your search and also export the data in CSV format without the need to process the JSON Rest call result yourself.
