How to display issues from multiple projects in Jira list view?

Hi everyone!

In our organization, we have a project with a filter configured to display issues from multiple different projects on its Kanban board. The operations team wants to see those issues in a list/tabular format.

I checked the List view, but as shown in the screenshot below, that view only displays native project issues and not those from other projects.

Is this a limitation that can't be bypassed? If so, what are my alternatives? Should I create a separate filter using issue search instead?

Hi Leons,

As Marc mentioned, this is not currently available. One workaround would be to create a filter and use the project in (ABC, DEF) functionality to show multiple projects.

Hi John, and thank you!

Yeah, I realized that it's currently not possible to display those issues from other project in the List view of a specific project.

And yes, I have addressed this with the filter workaround. Everyone is satisfied with this solution.

Hi @Leon Gumba

Currently this is not an option on list view. There is no functionality available to customize the filter used for the list option in a Jira project.

You could raise a request at Atlassian Support on this topic.

Or See if there is already an open suggestion for this, https://jira.atlassian.com/secure/Dashboard.jspa?selectPageId=10440

Hi @Marc - Devoteam and thank you for your response!

Yeah, I've figured that you can't render/display issues from other project on your specific project List view.

I have created a filter and shared it with the operations team. They are happy with it.

Hi @Leon Gumba

if you're open to solutions from the Atlassian Marketplace, please have a look at the app that my team and I are working on, JXL for Jira.

JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for your issues that allows viewing, inline-editing, sorting, and filtering by all your issue fields, much like you’d do in e.g. Excel or Google Sheets. It also comes with a range of advanced features, including support for (configurable) issue hierarchiesissue grouping by any issue field(s), sum-ups, or conditional formatting.

Plus, since every sheet in JXL is powered by either a JQL statement or a saved filter, you can pull in any set of issues, from any number of projects, and any combination of project types (including JSM and JPD).

This is how it looks in action:

This sheet contains issues from two projects (Fine work and Fine objectives) - but as said above, you have complete freedom over this.

Any questions just let me know,

Best,

Hannes
