Each task is assigned a 'story point' to show its complexity. I'd like to see these displayed in the list of cards, however every guide seems outdated/irrelevant as the ••• option (https://community.atlassian.com/t5/Jira-Work-Management-Questions/Display-labels-on-project-board/qaq-p/1218546) is not present. In this case I have admin permissions.
The below image is where i'd like the numbers to be. The story points are stored as an item in the 'details' section.
Hello @Thomas Liam Papaemmanouil,
Welcome to the Atlassian Community!
I saw that this question was posted as Jira Work Management and the post you mentioned is also from the same product, but I believe you are using a Jira Software project.
Testing on my local site, the story points show normally on both team-managed and company-managed projects.
If you are using a team-managed project:
Go to Project settings > Features and confirm if Estimation is enabled and if the Story points is selected:
If it’s a company-managed project:
Go to … > Board settings > Estimation and confirm if the Estimation Statistic is Story points.
You can also click on Card layout and add Story Points field.
Kind regards,
Angélica
That worked! (I am using a team-managed project). Thanks for your help! The tags I used were there when I posted so I assumed they had auto generated for me.
One final question: Is there any way to autofill this story point section from my custom made data point (located in the 'context fields' or 'details' section of the task)? Or will I have to go through and manually move each one over.

Hi Thomas,
I’m glad I could help!
If you created a custom field to add the value, then it will be necessary to manually add the value to the Story Points system field, so it will be visible on the backlog.

I'm pretty sure you can use an automation to transfer the custom field value to the system field any time it's updated.

How did you get to that screen? As I said I was unable to find the "•••" option
