I know this functionality exists in the structure plugin, but was wondering if there is something in default Jira or by using some free plugin to achieve this functionality?

The "Edit" option is not what I was looking for because that means I have to open up each issue to make the edit. I looked at the plugin you mentioned, but does not seem like it has what I am looking for, but I will try it out.
