How to enable Card cover images in Company managed projects

Hello!

We have created a Scrum project on a Company managed project level and we are currently trying to enable Card cover images.

This community mentions Card cover images is only for next-gen project Agility projects so I'm trying to figure out if that means Card cover images is a Team managed project level exclusive? Are there plans to implement this for other parts of the JIRA products?

Next-gen projects are now called team-managed projects indeed.

As far as I know, there are no plans to bring this feature to company-managed projects.

I see, thanks for clearing up my confusion. 

This is unfortunate as we expected this to be available to company-managed projects as well, and if there is a wish/vote to add it, I'd gladly add my +1 on it.

The reason we need this is because we have many designers who work with art, and in their pipe, they enjoy the look and feel of having a visual board, like in Trello.

Since we want to join together several projects and align our processes, we'll run into this as a potential blocker for what we aim to do.

We're in the same position as you @Roy - as small as it seems, it is a complete blocker for us to use Jira as a solution

Yeah, we're in the same boat.  We're trying to migrate all of our projects from Team-Managed to Company-Managed to help us build a better scaled framework where we can use the advanced roadmaps and do planning across project teams.  Biggest complaint from our Team-Managed Projects is losing Card Cover Images.  Looking at how it helps them visualize work on their boards, I find it very difficult to believe that Atlassian wouldn't be seriously considering adding this functionality to Company-Managed projects.  (Hint-Hint guys!)

Same problem here. Images can be shown on cards in company managed but only the image that is uploaded first, whereas in a team based you can change it to whichever image you want.

What is the reasoning for this?
