Hi, Is it possible if somehow we can extract information on the previous stage of a ticket.
For example, a ticket today is in Dev In progress stage and previous stage is Dev TL Review. Can i get this info from backend Jira tables from logs or something
I can certainly achieve this through automation by updating a custom field with previous stage information but we have limitation on automations so want to try something else.
What do you mean by "extract"? What do you wish to do with the info? You can use the APIs for this I believe. You could also create a custom field (last-status) and use Automation to record the last status.
The answer very much depends on what "extract" means in this case.
Issues have a full history, so you can always read that for the previous status. So the data is there, but "extract" doesn't tell us how you want to use it.

'Extract' as in export data from filter section.

You don't have any option but to use an automation of some sort (scripts or apps) - you need to replicate the history record of "last changed" into one or more fields if you want to see them in in an export of a filter.
