Our JIRA issues often have many tens of (long) comments. Searching for specific phrase in such a comments results in the list of issues. It is terrible job to go through the list, open issue one by one and look for the requested phrase in commnts manually.
Is there any way how to find phrase in comments more easily? By example in Confluence the search result contains the snippets of text with matched phrases ephasized ...
Any advice ?
Are you using cloud or server? In server you could just query the database but make sure you only query and test it properly ;) you can also try to describe your business case to the Atlassian support and see if they direct you to a JIRA issue to vote and comment on or if there is already an appropriate solution which I don't know...
Ah well if you are using server you can have a look at the add-on JJUPIN and give it a try using the SIL gadget on a dashboard with some script to crawl the comments and list snippets and links to the issues. If you want to provide this function to users you could use Blitz actions additionally. Both only for JIRA server
We are using server. I am going to explore the proposed JJUPIN solution. Thanks.
