How to link issue as parent issue via automation

Hi, 

I created automation which:

1. Edits a story to be an Epic 
2. Then - creates another task that should be linked under the Epic from step 1

Yet, it seems I cant link between issues

Hi Dana,

Unless I am missing something, I don't see anywhere where you are creating the new issue - only updating the current issue.

The 3rd screenshot is the creation of the new issue with a field of "Epic link" being copied from trigger issue

Ah, thank you. 

So, you will need another branch after you create the issue. It would be a branch for Most recently created issue. Then follow what Damian has below for Linking issues.

I would like the issues to be linked as child & parent link

You cannot create task as child item. You although can create subtask
