How to make Custom Field "Risk Rank" read only in Jira

You will need to remove the field from the Edit screen.

If you don't have an Edit screen, then copy the default screen that you have and save it as the Edit Screen and link it to the edit function. Then remove the field from that screen.

@John Funk  when i removed the "Risk Rank"  from Edit screen.  Its disappeared while creating issue type risk,, I wanted this to be visible and read only.  here the Risk Rank is =

Type: Number Field,, May be to make ready only it should be Text only.

You need to have multiple screens in the screen scheme based on the function - one screen for Edit, one for Create, and one for View. 

Leave the field in the Create and View screens, but remove it from the Edit screen.
