How to make the user to add texts in comment field when a story is moved to "Waiting" status?

Can I set a automation to pop up the comment field when a user moves a story to "Waiting" status? So, my team makes sure to add a reason why the story is moved to "Waiting" status ("Waiting" status is same as "Blocked" status for our team).

Are you using a Team Managed project or a Company Managed project?

For a Company Managed project you can:

1. Create a custom screen that has just the Comments field on it.
2. Modify the workflow, specifically the transition(s) to the Waiting status, to have the screen displayed when that transition is used.

I did not find a way to do this for a Team Managed project.

As Trudy describes, that is the way you can make a screen appear with the comment field on it in company managed projects. You cannot add the comment field to that screen, it is always there. So just an empty screen will do the trick.

In your workflow, on the transition to the waiting status, you can even add a required field validator for that same comment field to make it required.
