Hi @Roye Totah,

Like most other add-ons, Big Gantt's pricing is based on the number of Jira users, not the number of users that use the tool. You can manage permissions based on roles (go to Jira Settings, Apps, Big Gannt Security Configuration) but you can't change the pricing structure by restricting access.

Hope this helps,

Hey Scott,
Thanks for your answer, once i get to the security config it tells me that permission is set to everyone in the "plugin global configuration", but i have no idea where that part is (not in the global permissions as i hoped).
So i kind of got stuck there.

Hmmm...I'm not sure where that is either. Big Gantt has pretty good documentation, check out their latest for security here:

User access - Global Roles vs. Per Program Roles

If you still have trouble their support system is also good, you can raise a request here:

@Scott Theus

Thanks for pointing to the right documentation page :)

@Roye Totah

Please note that any Jira plugin must match the user tier of the Jira instance to which it is applied. This applies to both Cloud- and server-hosted instances. This situation affects all vendors of Jira plugins. Although it sounds odd that you must purchase a licence for a greater number of users than will actually use the plugin, we should regard the plugin as a solution.The cost should be weighed against the benefits of increased efficiencies delivered by the plugin.

The Security settings you need are here:

Please be sure to read the article mentioned by Scott before changing your settings.

Lastly, we have plans to redesign the Resource Module and not base our resources on Jira users but on roles to account for non human resources and different platforms. This is planned to be implemented some time next year.
