We have a number of older users in our internal Jira directory which we want to move one by one to LDAP. We do not want to move all our users on the internal directory. The users whom we want to move have accounts in LDAP with the same username. We are running on Jira 7.6.10 Data Center. Do we just need to remove each user from the Jira internal directory or is it more complicated?
Hi @user1647473884182 - If you order your user directories to place the LDAP user directory above the internal directory than Jira will select the user found in the LDAP user directory preferentially over the internal user directory.
Hi Michael,
Thanks for the prompt reply.
I think what you suggest will affect all users in the Jira Internal Directory rather than the ones we want to move one at a time. Is this correct?
Regards,
Adam

It will only affect users who are moved to the LDAP directory. If they haven't yet been moved to the LDAP user directory than Jira will fail to find them in the LDAP directory, but will find them in the internal directory.

Unfortunately, most of the users in the internal directory exist in LDAP but we want to move a subset one by one.
