How to prevent notification mails from "project moved to trash"

Nearly everyone in our company gets a notification mail about a project that has been deleted.

How/Where can I change who receives these mails?!

It does not appear that notification is customizable, but there is a change request for that which you can up vote.

Sub-optimal. But let me cast my vote into the void.

Maybe this will work. Before sending a project to trash, go to the project-settings en change the notification-scheme that is set on the project and select 'none'.
