Hello altogether,

as we moved our project from team-managed to company-managed in one step, we lost the entire old content of a couple of sprints. Is there any opportunity to recover all old stories, especially including storypoints to get back velocity and cycletime?

Thanks very much, Patrick

Hello @Patrick Glückler ,

Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the community.

Unfortunately, there is not an option to recover the preexisting values other than a manual re-estimation.  The story point estimate field is a different type only available in the team-managed projects and does not currently map to other project types.

There is more information detail the data loss covered in Migrate between team-managed and company-managed projects noting the following point under theSection Things to keep in mind if you migrate from company-managed to team-managed:

  • Story points estimation: This data will be lost, however you'll be able to start using story points estimation by enabling the Estimation feature in your team-managed project.

Regards,
Earl

Good day Earl,

thanks for the welcome and for the instant feedback. I found out that in certain velocity reports you´ll find at least the overall story points and stories done since the start of the project. I can derive data from there more or less which helps a lot.

So this might be a challenge to tackle for Atlassian don´t you think? I expect more projects migrating from team-managed to company managed.

Thanks very much and have a great weekend,

Patrick

Hi @Patrick Glückler ,

Yes, this is something that is on our radar, and we are tracking interest in the feature at the following request that has some additional details as to how the fields are separated on the backend:

This one has not yet been given an ETA on our Cloud Platform roadmap viewable here, but please do make sure to add a vote to the request to help influence the priority as covered in the Implementation of New Features Policy

Regards,
Earl
