Hello,
My company uses the default Description field for every ticket. When a reporter clicks the Create button, the field is pre-populated with the phrase: " Additional notes: _(If additional part firmware versions are required, list them here)_". Reporters are adding their text with it, so each ticket has that phrase on top and then the ticket description.
I want to remove this pre-populated phrase and leave the field blank.
I have looked in Custom fields but did not see it (probably since it is a default field) and have tried editing it from the Field Configuration page (can only edit field description). I have been unable to find answers online relating to pre-populating default fields (I did find abundance regarding custom fields though).
Thank you in advance for the assistance.
I agree with @Joe Pitt - the most likely place would be in Behaviours, which is provided by ScriptRunner. Go to Manage Apps under the Administration cog and look for Behaviours. If you don't see it there, then come back and let me know what apps you have installed.
If you see Behaviours, you probably have a behaviour script set up to pre-populate the description field. It shouldn't be hard to find once you are there.
There was no Behavior, but you advice lead me to find an app called Default Values Settings. Took a peek and there it was.
Thank you for the assistance.

I suspect it is a script running that does it. I don't use scrips so I don't know where to look.
