How to you rename board name?
I have tried these suggestions but it is not renaming the larger label below the board name. In the attached screen shot, only the 'AP Board' is being renamed. The larger 'Kanban board' is not being renamed. Please advise.
Boards (in top nav) > View All Boards > Elipsis (...) of board you wish to rename > Configure > General. Click Board Name to active edit, type in new name, and press Enter. You may run into some permissions/ownership issues.

Getting a lot of answers here, but most just repeat what we already know, how to edit the tiny title above the huge "Kanban board" title. That is not the question.

I have the same question to rename it too. But I believe, it's a style default either Scrum or Kanban Boards when we selected to create a board early. We can not rename or delete it.
Solution: You can only Hide menus from select more (•••) > Board settings, Create board, Hide menus
It will hide your project path and Kanban board heading.

Hi @mark,
1.Go to your board, then select more (•••) > Board settings.
2.On the board settings screen, click the 'pencil' icon (which will appear when you hover) to edit the name of your board. Press the Enter key when finished.

In Jira server, all these suggestions only rename the small greyed out name above the words "Kanban Board." The OP is asking how to rename the big "Kanban Board" text, which is not helpful to anyone since yes obviously it is a Kanban Board. I have the same question as the OP and cannot find an answer.

I agree, this is an issue, quite an annoying one.

Consider me in. The "Kanban board" board title should be editable, and to repeat others, we do NOT mean the customised title in small letters above, the one you actually can edit in Board settings.

Add me to the group. It should apply 'Board Name' value to the page title and left rail menu name. And this conv started over a year ago...and still not updated. How do suggestions like this get forwarded to Atlassian for consideration?

Add me to the group. We know that its a kanban board so we don't need a big bold reminder - displaying the defined name of the board in the settings is just common sense. If we need to have kanban board displayed, then sub-text under the board name would be a compromise. Has anyone from the Jira Dev Team commented on this important, and truly annoying issue?

We are using cloud classic and I found that you can hide 'kanban board', but I could not figure out how to delete/rename. To hide - go to the board, select the ellipse on the upper right (rightmost icon beside the share icon) and then 'hide menu'. This does not hide the entire menu, it will hide 'kanban board'.

I'm surprised they put "How to rename kanban board" as the title of this thread, and not "Questions people ask" :D
I've hidden the title using the suggestion from @Kimberly Craker above, but I usually have multiple kanban boards open at any time, and it would be nice to be able to switch between them and quickly see which board I'm looking at.

Agreed. This would be a great feature, for the reason Michael Daigle said.
