Hello,
I am trying to create a kanban board that is visible to anyone, even not logged users.
I am creating a company managed project with a kanban template, changing the permission scheme to a copy of the default + "Browse Project" has the "public" user inside.
I am making sure the filter used by the kanban board is set to "project" (which is then public).
Result:
- I can share the link to the filter and it's visible from incognito windows
- I can browse the project and see the issue list
- I can open and see the issues details
- I see the title "Kanban Board" in my project view
- I cannot click or access via URL the Kanban Board
What am I doing wrong?
Hi @CAHu
I am not sure users would be able to see a kanban board as boards are tied to the Jira Software license. At least on server, this is true.
Sharing the filter may make it possible for people to view the issues in the filter but I still doubt it shared the board proper, however, it never hurts to try.
Regards.
Apparently you are right.
There is no way of having public Kanban Boards on Jira Cloud.
If this is true, that's a pity as this feature would allow people working on jira to do things that currently you can do on other platforms like github.

@CAHuI've been searching for solution of this as well. Have you found one? I also want to make my kanban board public for all departments in my company to view without the need of adding every one into JIRA which bills per seat.
As the last resort, I might have to create a public Trello board and sync JIRA tickets over (1-way) using some automation script

@ChiragI've put it as a Replit
https://replit.com/@LeeU1911/jira-to-trello-sync?v=1
Please go there, click "Fork" (log in using Google account or something)
Then provide your own credentials via "Secrets" tab, then simply run
Open README file to see how to get those credentials

@Chirag I shared my script which worked for me because someone asked. I also tried to help a bit by setting it up as Replit and providing useful README. I don’t earn money from this so if it doesn’t work for your case, unfortunately you have to figure it out yourself.
With that said, make sure to provide correct credentials as instructed in README

Hey @CAHu,
I'm working with an Atlassian Marketplace Vendor named Old Street Solutions, and I'm happy to say their app recently released a feature you may find handy.
I see your case is already resolved, but I'm quickly chiming in with the exciting news. You can now share entire Scrum or Kanban boards via External Share for Jira as part of the apps' functionality!
You can see the linked example, which is the actual Development Roadmap board of the team. :)

Have you tried sharing the filter for the board with Public, instead of Project?

Did you try my suggestion of sharing the filter for the board with Public, instead of Project?

Yes, unless I am doing it wrong, in Jira Cloud I can only create filters and share them with groups already present but not with the public.
However, I can set the filter access to "project" and the project has the "browse project" set to "public".
Indeed, I can open the filter via incognito window, as well as navigate the issues, but I cannot see the board.
