We have requirement to add New filed which will evaluate the difference of estimated due date with todays date and display it in jira issue.
Should i use script filed for this? or any inbuilt filed? please suggest code if it is to be done from script fields.
Hi @Kishore D
we are about to add this exact field to JXL for Jira.
JXL is a full-fledged spreadsheet/table view for Jira that lets you view all standard Jira fields and custom fields, as well as a number of "special fields" - such as, for example, "Time since created", "Time since resolved", or "Time in status".
"Time to due date" will become another special field.
Here's how JXL looks in action ("time to due date" would look and feel very similar to "time since created"):
Do you believe that this would satisfy your requirements?
Thanks,
Best,
Hannes
Hi @Kishore D
this is great to hear! We need to think through a number of details for implementing this field, but should be able to release it in the next couple of days. I'll keep you posted here.
To install JXL on your Jira site, please follow the instructions here: https://jxl.app/docs/guide/installation/#jira-server.
Once you have it installed, you can create and configure as many sheets as you want, in any way that fits your requirements.
Let me know if you run into any trouble.
Best,
Hannes

we just released version 1.5.0 of JXL for Jira, including the new "Time to due date" column. You can install JXL as described here and add the new column with one click.
Please let me know how it is working for you!

Hi Hannes,
Thanks for the suggestion. But, i am not allowed to install any without any approvals.
For 1 project customization request, i am not sure whether it will be approved to install in production servers. can i have 1 script filed like TODAY DATE - DUE DATE = No of days left to complete request.
