How to transition from Jira 8.5.5+Roadmaps3.2.9 to Jira DataCenter 8.18

Elyse Grasso September 8, 2021

We have just finally upgraded from Jira Sever 8.5.5 and Advanced Roadmaps 3.2.9 to Jira Data Center 8.18.  The Advanced Roadmaps plugin is still installed.

Is there anything I need to do to safely, without losing all the work done setting up our hierarchy and plan, switch to using the 8.18 built-in Roadmaps?

Should I just uninstall the plugin?

Is this something I should plan to do outside prime business hours?

@Elyse Grasso

Any tests that can affect the business and users should be run in a test environment.

My best suggestion is to create a test environment with the same exact configuration and data from Production, then try anything you want.

Also never make changes in prod during business hours.

If you have any questions please let me know.

All the best,

Fadoua

I note that you failed to address the key question of whether there is supposed to be a transition path from 8.5.5+ Roadmaps to DataCenter that will maintain our configuration and data.

Based on the following document, you don't need to do anything. Just keep using the plugin. You won't need to renew the license once it expires as Advanced Roadmaps is included in DataCenter.

It is always recommended to read the release notes as they are very helpful:

If you have any questions, let me know
