After spending hours reconfiguring approver custom fields and groups I have found that neither the approver notification email nor the portal approver notification is generated if the request channel is JIRA and not the Portal.
In our workflow these requests will all be coming from within the internal IT department who are all agents and can create requests from within JIRA. Is there a method for turning on notifications for approval for the JIRA channel?

I have ran into that before, however the scenario I am talking about is different. The approver is not getting any notifications when the request channel type is JIRA, whether that approver is a customer or an agent does not make a difference.
