How to update subtask assignee when master ticket is assigned?

For complex tasks with multiple steps we are creating a master ticket with subtasks.

When the master task is assigned, we would like all subtasks to automatically be assigned to the same person.

Similarly, if the master ticket is re-assigned then we would like all subtasks to be automatically re-assigned to the same person.

Is this possible with JIRA?

Hi @David Dean 

You can do that by using Jira automation and is quite easy.

• Go to your project > project settings
• Click automation
• Create a new rule
• See the relevant components from the image below:
