How to visualize time tracking components in specific date range for each day, week, month?

LuckyLuke May 17, 2025

I set up my time tracking reports in a table form, and I wanted to visualize them on the dashboard. It seems almost impossible. I already tried several apps, and none of them can do what I want.

I have three different reports based on components. Daily breakdown over the current sprint, Weekly breakdown over the last 6 sprints, and Monthly breakdown over the current year.

I want each report visualized in a way you can see in the image below:

Setting up the y-axis is easy. Setting up the x-axis is impossible since all gadgets have the option to put components on the x-axis, but not date range broken down to days, weeks, or months.

I downloaded several apps, spent endless hours in documentation, and I can't do it. I got close with one app, but for some reason, that app does not see work logs, so the time spent is 0 on everything.

Is there any way to do it in Jira with or without apps, or should I just go to some other reporting tool?

Hi @LuckyLuke ,

Do I understand correctly that

  1. Over time time spent on these components will only increase
  2. Each period displays historical information at a specific point (day/month/year) showing the sum of time spent logged in all the issues across all projects
  3. You don't use sprints

?

If so, please review the app I developed Multi-team Metrics & Retrospective, and its pricing. If you are ready to buy it in case I implement the above, I will implement it next week.

Best regards,
Alexey

Hello @Alexey Pavlenko _App Developer_ ,

this reporting is for my side project and in that jira instance I work alone so based on your app's pricing it would be free for me.

Also, it seems that the app I am using for time tracking, Clockwork Pro, logs worklogs in itself, so Jira worklogs are empty.

Hi @LuckyLuke

I'm Goyo and I'm part of Dashboard Hub team in Appfire.

Our team has designed Dashboard Hub to help in use cases like yours.

I believe that our Jira Custom Charts Gadget can be useful for you. It will allow your team to configure both axis of the chart and will provide you the granularity you need for dates.

Here is an example of all the configuration options. You can simply set the right JQL query for your use case and it will be ready.

On the other hand, you can use it as a single gadget inside a Jira Dashboard or inside one of our dashboards that you'll be able to share even outside of your instance using our protected public link feature.

You can take a look at our documentation here Getting Started With Dashboard Hub

Best,

Goyo.

Hi @LuckyLuke ,

You can try Reports - Charts and Graphs for Jira app developed by our team. For your specific requirement you can get a bar chart of sum of time spent by created(day, week or month) for each component as in the below screenshot. You can set X-axis created field granularity to day, week or month.

Here is our live demo dashboard where you can see and modify sample reports and play with them.

If you have any questions, feel free to schedule a demo with us.

Hope it helps.
