How to write automation to copy values of two text fields from one project to two drop-down fields

Hi,

I am doing an automation like if the value of Category field is Solution, then create an issue in another project.

For this I have configured all the mandatory fields. But, there are two fields (Client Name and Client Project) in Project 1, that are text fields, and exact same fields in Project 2, but drop-down.

How am I supposed to map these? Client Name from Project 1 to Client Name from Project 2?

Hi @Anjana V K

First I would use the same fields in both projects.

Then with automation you are able to set the field information based upon the information in the trigger issue.

To accomplish this I would add the dropdown fields to project 1 and update the issues with the values from the text fields.

This also mitigates a risk if the text field has a value that doesn't exist in the drop down that an error will be thrown by the automation

Makes sense. Thank you!
