How would you differentiate a Team vs a Project? We are a small company with shared resources

Shabnam Mitchell October 19, 2020

Would it make more sense to create a single Team with all our employees and add them to every project? Or to create separate teams for each project?

Hi @Shabnam Mitchell

Probably not. Not everyone in your organisation will be working on all the projects.

  • Each project can have a Project Lead and that person can manage their own team by adding people to different project roles
  • Project roles developer, tester, etc are like teams
  • What these project roles can do in the project is defined by the permission scheme of the project

I hope it helps.

Yes, thank you Ravi!

Looking at Planned vs Actual, is it true that I need to have both Tempo Planner and Tempo Timesheets to enable that report?

I was hoping I could use the time logged in the Jira projects as the actuals...

Hi,

in order to report on planned time from others you will also need the Tempo Planner add-on.
