I can't see approver in workflow status setting.

Hi,

I'm using Jira server 8.5.2 and I want to set up approver in a workflow. But after I added Needs Approval status in workflow, there's no approver in it. I saw the document said "The option to add an approval step is only available if the workflow is associated with at least one Jira Service Desk project". So I'm not sure if it's the problem.

Hi @Jason Liu 

Approvers and approvals in general exist only in JSM projects and not in Jira Software. Having said that:

• You need to have two outbound transition from the Need approval status. One for approve, and one for decline
• After setting up the above, you have to activate your workflow by associating it with an issue type used in a project.
• Once you do the above, then you edit the workflow again and setup all necessary info (which transition is for approve/decline, which field will get the approvers, how many approvals are needed etc)
