I cannot seem to get the story points field to display in an new Issue Type

Our goal is to have a new story type for our designers so we ca color code the avatar between the designers and the developers on our team.  

I created a new issue type but for the life of me the screens will not display the story points for the new issue type.

I cannot imagine the tool not being able to support something as basic as this request

Does your screen scheme include this field? Also, I've seen where the field will only show up as editable when you are creating/editing via the full page view rather than the "quick add/edit" panel from the Kanban view.

In as much as I can figure out it does.  

I have two custom types that do not display that particular field which are both custom types

Actually I figured it out with a second set of eyes.  There are two distinct fields, the story point estimate and the Story Point fields.  The Estimate field is the field you can enter values and the other is the display field. When both are in the Configure Screen page the values appear
