I cannot share filters from Manage filters view

Alena Fricova April 7, 2022

Hey,

I noticed that it is not possible to share filter from Manage filters view. There are no edit options.

I know that there is a workaround (sharing within selected filter), but still, I want to know, why is this problem here.

I tried it on v8.22.0 and v8.22.1 with the same result.

Thank you,

Alena

Hi @Fabio Racobaldo _Herzum_ ,

I am in the same situation as @Alena Fricova. The global permissions are OK, I can not edit sharing parameters on my filters on the manage filter menu.

But I found a workaround. On the filter you can modify the permissions of its by clicking on details > Edit permissions.

FYI, I opened a bug on Atlassian Support and I am currently waiting the answer.

(we are on the 8.22.1)

Regards,

Antoine

Hi @Alena Fricova ,

in order to share your filter you should have "Create Shared Objects" global permission.

Please ask to your JIRA Admin to provide you that grants.

Hope this helps,

Fabio

You need to be the owner of a filter in order to have capability to edit/share it.

In order to change a filter owner please take a llok here https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirakb/how-to-update-jira-filter-owned-by-other-users-as-an-admin-1019411702.html

Hi @Alena Fricova @Fabio Racobaldo _Herzum_ ,

The bug https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JRASERVER-73361 is reported.

You can find two workarounds :

Option 1

  • Click on Issues > Manage filters
  • Search for the filter you want to edit
  • Click on the gear icon and open the Edit option in a separate tab
  • Proceed with the edit

Option 2

  • Click on Issues > Manage filters
  • Search for the filter you want to edit
  • Open the link for the filter in a new tab
  • Click on Details > Edit Permissions
  • Proceed with the edit

Best regards,

Antoine
