I dont find Next-gen project on my Free JIRA Software instance

Jatinder Mangat March 8, 2023

HI there! i'm preparing for ACP-620. In sample questions, there is mention of next-gen projects. However, i do not see such an option in my Free JIRA instance.

Is the next-gen option available only in Standard or Premium versions?

Thanks

"Next-gen" was the previous name of the "team-managed" project type. See https://support.atlassian.com/jira-software-cloud/docs/what-are-team-managed-and-company-managed-projects/.  And they are available in all versions of Jira Software.

I will review our sample questions to ensure they are referring to the correct project type name. If you have the question number handy, it would be helpful :-).

By the way, we have a special course available at our annual Teams conference in April aimed to help students prepare for the ACP-620 certification. In case you are going to Team, we cordially invite you to sign up: https://events.atlassian.com/team23/training
It's called "Exam Success Accelerator for ACP-620 Managing Jira Cloud Projects"

And either way, I wish you luck in preparing for the certification. You can do it!!

hi @Jatinder Mangat ,

Next-gen projects are team management projects. You should be able to see them in the free Jira instance.

Thanks Ben...Ah terminology change!

I did some search and found....Projects in Jira can be created as either team-managed or company-managed projects (formerly next-gen and classic).

Looks like sample questions are in line for an update.

Thanks again
