I remember that I could close issues tight from the actions menu in the issue detail view. Right along the options Move, Clone, or convert to Issue in case of subtasks, there was also the option to Close issues and then being able to set the resolution as Won't do for example. Now I don't see that option. Any help?
In a previous organisation, where we had an on prem install of Jira, I know we had an option in this menu to close a ticket, and when it was selected, it popped up a dialog to prompt the resolution. I cant see it in my current cloud installation
That option would be in the workflow menu, not the actions menu.
If you're not seeing it any more, that means you do not have the permission to use the transition, or an admin has removed the transition from the workflow.

@Nic Brough -Adaptavist- I know there is ALSO the option (hack) to make a status called CLOSE and then it will appear in the Workflow menu. But, no, I am pretty sure the Close option was there in the action menu in the issue detail view. It's gone.

have no permission issues, I check that already and it seems that it's not the case, but I could have missed something, that could be.

Ok, so an admin has removed whatever app or hack it was that was inserting the option into the options menu.
(The change to the workflow is not a "hack" by the way - it's "using Jira as intended")

Yes. "Close" is a transition. Those go in the workflow.
"Clone" is an action. And it's not "close"
