We work with tasks and subtask. Each subtask is assigned to an user. And story points are also saved per subtask. So when I plan a sprint, I would like to see per user how many story points are assigned.
If I use story points on the main issue, on top of the (future) sprint the avatars of all users are shown. But if I use story points on the subtask, no avatars are shown, no totals are shown.
I attached a printscreen to make it (hopefully) clearer:
Does somebody have an idea?
I know this is an old question, but in case anyone else has a similar question... Here is my recommendation.
For the work method you are describing, the best way would be to implement using epics. Assign epics to teams, then assign users to tasks. Then you'll get your story points per user as you're planning your sprint.
Subtasks are for your users to break down their work a bit more.
Cheers!
Hi Nanda,
storypoints are not aggregated from subtasks to main issues (Stories).
Since you don't have subtasks in a scrum backlog, you don't see the storypoints in the backlog.
You have to assign the storypoints to the main task, not the subtasks.

I do want to assign storypoints to the subtask, because every subtask is assigned to a team member. I have to know if user X has 20 story points assigned and user Y only 1. I have to divide the work. And for example a designer in the team cannot do the work of the programmer right? So I need to know if I can add extra work to the designer in the future sprint. That is also why I want to see the avatars of every user on top of the future sprint to check the estimated stpry points per user.
What is the reason that if I use hours, I can assign the hours to the subtask? And I can display on the card of the main task the sum of the estimated hours of all subtasks? But this is not possible when I use story points?
Is there no other way to make it work?
