I want to add a management number column "Project name-xxx" before the "Project/Version/Ticket" columns in WBS Gantt-Chart. However, it seems that there is no option to add such a column in the settings. Unfortunately, it appears that this cannot be done.

Thanks

Hello @Yukishige Chayama, welcome to the Community! 👋🏻

Thank you for posting - Raphael from WBS Gantt-Chart support team here 😊

You have 2 options to add custom columns (e.g. this management number you mentioned)

  1. For a single user: you can do it by clicking on WBS Gantt-Chart settings ⚙️ -> click on Gantt configuration -> go to Columns tab -> at Adding Field dropdown list, search for the field you want to display, then click Add. After that, you can back to your Gantt and drag and drop the column as best suits you.
  2. For all users that will manage your Gantt: In this case, you'll need to manage Gantt Schemes, so you can change the Gantt Scheme by going to Jira top navigation menu → Cog ⚙️ icon → Apps → section WBS Gantt-Chart in left sidebar → Gantt Scheme -> change the Default Scheme or create a new one. After that you can follow step 1.
    •  Important reminder: Even creating a new Scheme or changing the Default, you'll need to create a new Gantt-Chart to inherit your new settings, the existing Gantts won't inherit these new settings.
    • The new column added will always be after the default columns, so each user will need to drag and drop the column to the position they want

This should cover your needs, Yukishige. However don't hesitate to share with us if you have any other questions or comments on the matter, we'll be pleased to help! 🙌🏻

Than you for your responce!

I would like to know if there is an item on the drop down list that automatically displays the "Project name-xxx" for that line. I understand it is possible to create by hand.

" Project name-xxx" can be created manually, but setting it up line by line is very hard work.

I appreciate your help very match!

Best Regards,

Yuki

Hi Yuki-san,

You can add the "Project name-xx" as a column on your Gantt, this way will display the name of your project in all lines of your Gantt! You can do this by accessing WBS Gantt-Chart Settings ⚙️ -> click on Gantt Configuration -> Columns tab -> search for Project field and add it to the context, as follows:

After that, you can go back to your Gantt and this new column will be set as the last column, then you can drag and drop this column to the best position that you prefer. Here's my example:

Please let me know if the above information meet your need, Yuki-san 🙂  nevertheless please share with us if you have other questions or concerns, we'll be happy to help you!
