I want to be able to insert custom fields more than once into the same Jira Request Type

I have to gather the same information for several people in the same form. Rather than creating a separate phone field for example for 5 different people, I would like to insert the phone field 5 times. That way I don't have Phone 1, Phone 2, Phone 3, etc.

Also, any searches or filters would pull in all of them as well as make the custom field list less crazy.

Is this possible?

There's no way to do this - once you add a custom field, there is one place in the database for the data for that issue.

I'm afraid you'll need to put the numbers into a text field, or play tricks like having several sub-tasks.

I assume when you say sub-tasks you mean a separate issue. I am trying to create a service desk portal for a trip request that involves multiple people. I need to get the same info on all those people so I guess I am going to have to have multiples of every field.

I do, the sub-tasks would belong to the parent, but yes, there would be several of them, one for each number.  Also, you wouldn't see them in the request portals, as sub-tasks aren't create-able or visible there.

I'm not sure there's any way other than many "telephone number" fields.
