I would like a JQL query to find issues that have been created 7 days out from their due date

Shakthi Oke February 13, 2022

I would like to be able to surface work that has been created/requested with only 7 days notice period (bonus if we can identify business days Mon-Fri)

For example:

project in (ID) AND "Due date" is "7d" from "Created Date"

Hi @Shakthi Oke

How do you intend to use this information and how frequently do you need it?  The answers may help you decide solution approaches.

For example, you could create a filter to find issues created today and which are due in less-than-or-equal-to 7 days, save the filter, and then subscribe to it for a daily email.

If you needed to look back historically (assuming due dates didn't change after the ticket was created), you would need some form of addon...such as additions to JQL or you could create an Automation for Jira rule to send a notification/report.

Kind regards,
Bill

Hi @Bill Sheboy , thank you for your support here.
I do intend to look back historically over a quarterly period. But I do love the option of subscribing to the filter as a workaround to consolidate the numbers. Might have to go that approach given capability not there.

We do have ScriptRunner installed so I may be able to explore that path.

Hi @Shakthi Oke

Unfortunately, there is no way to do that unless you build your own JQL function.

You can do that either by building your own plugin or creating a custom JQL function using Script Runner.

We @Tuncay Senturk have Script Runner so I might explore this path.

Thanks so much for the response/direction.
