If I delete a clone, will it also affect the original issue?

Hello community :-)

I was wondering, if deleting a clone will also delete the original issue?

When I tried to delete a clone of an epic (in a Scrum project) in a next gen project, the warning said "you will delete all related issues".

Thanks in advance for your help,

Sebastian

Hi Sebastian - I just tried a test of this (deleted the clone) and it did not delete the original issue (Epic).

Now, having said that, it is rarely a good idea to delete an issue. It is better to mark it as Discarded or Canceled or something like that.

Hi John,

thanks for your quick response. Good to know that the original (parent) issue isn't deleted. But I'll follow your advice and discard or cancel clones in comparable circumstances (which will occur frequently until my automation problem isn't solved - but that's another story...).
