One of our vendors has given us a backup of a project we have with them. I want to upload it to our Jira Software Project but I want to make sure it will just add the project and not mess with my projects and configuration. They use Jira cloud and we use server. They sent me the XML in a zip folder. I just want to be sure I don't screw something up in my Jira.
Thanks in advance,
Sam
How do you backup just a project? The only backup in cloud is an entire instance backup. Regardless you can’t simply apply a cloud backup to server. Maybe there is some app addon involved here?
I would recommend a more cautious approach. Export to CSV the issues from their instance and import to your server instance.
FYI In doing some more research I found this with info on how to restore a single project from backup.

Thanks for the advise on the CSV this may be the way we go since cloud to server is a way complicated process.
