Im trying to set the "estimates" on a board in a Scrum Development project

I don't find the option stated below, to configure and add Estimation.

1. Go to the desired board, then click Board > Configure.
   
2. Click the Estimation tab.
3. In the Estimation Statistic field, select Story Points. Leave the Time Tracking field set to None.

I'm new to Jira,,and finding my way around following the online documentation has proved challenging

Hello @Leonie_Vortsman could you share some screenshots of what you see? Which part are you unable to see? Step 1? Is it a next gen project?

It is a Classic Projects,, with a Scrum Development template (as advised earlier today)

I'm unable to see step 1. Board -> Configure

I would like to add the "estimation statistics".

It should be at the top right of that view. Did you create that project or someone else did? You must be the board admin to configure it. 

Optionally create a new one that will for certain make you board admin and then you will be able to change that

I created the board. I'm following the online documentation (https://confluence.atlassian.com/jirasoftwareserver/customizing-your-project-938845056.html).

It's under Setting on the Right, and then in a list down the left have choices, including Estimation
