Import form swiftkanban

Hi,

does anyone has experience with import from swiftkanban ? The exported format contains kind of richttext/HTML tag ans jira doesnt parse that. it takes the content as a full text which makes the text kind of unreadable.

So if we find a way for jira to parse it correct, then we have also the text color, font sizes etc... would be nice.

regards,

Kurt

Hi @Kurt Callebaut

I don't have any experience with SwiftKanban, but I do know they have a "SwiftSync" tool that will integrate with Jira. You may want to check that out if you haven't already.

Otherwise look to see if SwiftKanban can export to a .csv file or if it can create a report of the issues you want in Jira that can then be exported or converted to .csv. Other than some form of connector like SwiftSync that is the only way I can think of to import your issues into Jira.

hi, thx for the reply. As you mention we are migrating and have exported from swiftkanban to a csv file. This can be imported into jira, but it contains tags and jira is not parsings the tags, So the text becomes pretty unreadable.

Is there a way to keep the format like font, size, linebreaks, etc... while issues are imported in-to jira?

format looks like this ::

<table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="349"><colgroup><col width="349"></colgroup><tbody><tr height="40">
<td style="height: 30.0pt;width: 262.0pt;" height="40" width="349"><a href="http://www.pivotaltracker.com/story/show/31909851">http://www.pivotaltracker.com/story/show/31909851</a></td>
</tr></tbody></table>

 or this

<p><span style="font-family: Arial;font-size: 12.0px;">Bij voorgemonteerde lades LBX (binnenlade) moeten BIDI en onze klanten een meenemerset kunnen bestellen.</span></p>

greetz,

Unfortunately, I don't think the Jira import tool is that "smart;" it is limited to matching the columns in the .csv to the fields in Jira. If you are having trouble getting the fields to populate in Jira you probably need to edit the .csv in Excel to remove the tags before you import.

I'll check with other Community Leaders to see if they have any other suggestions.

Ok, thx.

Actually the columns are defined well, its the content of one column. It contains a description, like jira editor it contains fontsize, bold, spaces and other formats. So when the editor supports it, why doesn't the import support it ? They probably store it in the same way.
