I am trying to import some confluence URLs into the link section of JIRA with a mass import CSV. (Confluence describing the test condition of the JIRA task for example)
The goal here is to see the confluence page into Issue Links
I have tried to map the "link related" field with the Confluence URL or confluence page ID to no avail. (this is working fine with Issue keys)
The only work around I have so far is to create a custom field.
So is there a way to import the confluence URL into the issue links field. (this is possible manually at last with the link dialogue box where one can choose either a JIRA issue, Confluence page or Web link)
I have found this for web links that seems to indicates that this feature is not available ?
Hello Remi,
The Jira issue importer can be a huge time saver when migrating or merging projects and issues. You are able to link issues to other issues upon import. You can find more at How to Import Issue Links from a CSV File. Is you’re attempting to bring in web links or external links upon an import, that is not present supported.
The good news is you’re not the first to ask, and there is a feature request already created to create this functionality. You can find more about the feature request at JRASERVER-61118. We would suggest you vote and watch this request to receive updates on its status as it progresses.
The feature request you referenced (JRACLOUD-61118) is for Jira Cloud as it is a mirroring feature request.
As it stand, for both of the feature requests, there is no work around.
There are marketplace add-on which may be available to meet your requirements. I was able to find 1 add-on which would offer importing your Confluence web links into a custom field. You may find that add-on at Custom Field Value Importer. There may be others available as well within the Atlassian Marketplace.
I hope this clarifies the functionality of the Jira issue importer and the available feature requests.
Regards,
Stephen Sifers
Thank you Stephen.
As a work around I am now using the description field (or any other custom text file) with the link [label | https://confluence.....].
I could be nice in the future to add just the confluence ID and have the results in LINKS
