Hello @James Arthur

More information is needed about your request.

What problem are you trying to solve? If we understand the problem, then we can speak directly to an appropriate solution.

Besides that, in your Jira instance what is a "feature"? Is that an issue type?

What does the requester expect to happen if a release is "tied to" a feature?

Issues can be associated to Releases (a.k.a. Versions) by adding the Release/Version to the Fix Version/s field. The relationship is many to many; multiple issues can be associated to a release/version, and an issue can be associated to many releases/versions.

What problem are you trying to solve?

  • While our team is reviewing our release (Fix Version) to make sure we have the correct issues in the release we sometimes need to pull an issue out.
  • At that point we want to see if there are other stories in that release that are tied to the same Feature/Epic that would also need to be pulled. We can get to that information, but it would simplify the process if the feature/epic is showing on the release page as a sort column on that table.

Besides that, in your Jira instance what is a "feature"? Is that an issue type?

  • I believe Jira refers to features as epics.

What does the requester expect to happen if a release is "tied to" a feature?

  • I do not need a feature tied to the release. I just need it represented on the view inside of all fix versions. Then I can have a quick visual representation of what epic/feature a child issue is attached to.

There doesn't appear to be an option to add more fields to the display of issues within a Release.

However, if you identify the Epic to which the story you are removing belongs, then you can use the Epic filter directly above the list to filter the list to show only the issues within that Epic.
